The annual convention of the American Psychological Association took place in Washington D.C. last week-end. Unfortunatley, I wasn't able to attend the conference, but I was able to contribute to a poster presentation with others from my research lab.
We administered one scale that measures personality disorder features (CATI), one scale that measures personality traits (NEO-FFI), and another scale that measures suicidal ideation (GSIS) to older adults. We found that personality disorder features were strongly correlated with suicidal ideation, with histrionic and borderline features contributing the most variance in suicidal ideation. Neuroticism was the only personality trait to significantly contribute (negatively) to suicidal ideation. Take a look at our poster for more information!
